These calculators return theoretical weight from nominal dimensions and a standard density. Real material varies within its permitted dimensional and weight tolerances, and corner radii on hollow sections are not accounted for. Use the figures for estimating, planning and freight budgeting.

Do not use them for design, for pressure calculations, or in place of a mill test certificate. For a binding weight, ask us for the certified figure against the actual heat.

Densities used by these calculators

Nominal values. Actual density varies slightly with composition and with temperature, which is one reason calculated weight and weighed weight differ.

Need the certified weight?

Calculated weight is an estimate. For a binding figure against the actual heat, send us the specification and we will quote with the certificate.
